20 Pages of Potential!
What can members do with all these empty profile page blocks?

These are not empty pages...Far from it.  These are free and open canvases for you to start painting on with you personality, and by sharing content like your digital art, e-books, short stories, music players, you tube videos...etc If you can "embed" it, the odds are VERY good that you can display it here! It's just a matter of learning how to copy, modify and paste HTML codes like "tags", "code sniplets" and ""modifiers" into these pages to make them display high quality presentations. Once you get the hang of it, your imagination will run wild with the things you can create with these pages, that no other social media network or website would allow to you touch with a ten foot pole!

Each multi-slided "Page Block" has a designated function for the Djemini Network, but can be used to input anything at any time really. This page block - the Member Showcase Block (MSB) - is an excellent place to share short stories, slide presentations, or full page spreads in virtual form. Once you learn how to use it, there is much that can be accomplished with this block, like a monthly writer's digest, or a virtual print magazine you want people to see in digital form. On the Djemini Network, you have a full 20 pages to design and fill up with text, pictures and other embedded media, allowing you to feature your work for others to see.

Any pages you leave blank will not appear to other members. Like many of the other profile page blocks, these areas are fully customizable. But you will need some training in basic HTML and text code formating to make the most of it, if you do not already have these skills. Anyone born around and with the decade of 1985 or so, practically lives and breathes these particular sets of skills. So this is my effort to pass those skills onto you!

Here is a crash course to help get you started:

Social media websites are only tools. They are a means to something, not an end. They are like Building Blocks... they are interwoven at this point, to stack one up requires two others, and with each adding and delivering their own functions. Together they form a powerhouse of influence and promotional potential. You have to keep in mind what you are wanting to build more than asking "Which platform is the best for me?" - Thinking about it like that is like asking which screwdriver works best for all screws. It just doesn't make sense from a function stand point. Design accordingly. As you fill in your presentation(s), try to view it as if you are the very special and interested visitor who is coming to see your work. What kind of standard do you carry? What kind of impression do you want to leave Hold yourself to that, and don't give up!!

Click on the "Edit Text" link at the top left of these block pages to begin filling in content (p1, p2, p3...etc) Use the text editor and HTML tools at the top of the edit screen to fill in the page with your content. Click save at the bottom left of each page when done filling it. Then repeat on the next page for as many of the 20 pages as needed.

• IMPORTANT: The instructions page I left on everyone's profile pages are the default tabs that display when
  visitors first come to view your profile. The only way to override them is by adding your own content into the
  pages. Until you do, it will act as a promp for you and others to learn how, and why.

If p1 is blank, but p2 has content, then p2 will display first... etc.  Any pages you leave blank will not appear to other members.  if you leave even just a single character like * or a comma, then the page will display. There is a radial drag option at the very bottom right of the page block that allows you to adjust the height of the preview window while the workspace is activated.

Use the "Members Dashboard" at the top right of your profile page area to copy and paste emojis into your presentation from the "Emojis" link. Add colours and other effects to your text using the HTML "Cheat Sheet" located in the Members Dashboard into your MSB. Activate the Djemini Radio in the Member Dashboard to listen to a random shuffle of shared music. When telling your friends about a specific pageyou can reference them as MSB1 = p1, MSB2 = p2, MSP3 = p3....etc. Encourage your friends to leave  comments or feedback for you in the ❤️ tab that is attached to the very end of eachmulti-page block on your profile.

The Tools Of The Trade | Getting Started

At a glance, getting started on putting together a custom profile can seem overwhelming. But this should help you get started. To edit any custom page slide, just select the slide and click on the "Edit Text" link at the top left of the slide. This activates the WYSIWYG Editor.

Once activated, the top of the field will show an editor's bar with a number of tools for you to use in building your slide. Here's a basic review of each of those buttons, and what they do.

When dealing with online HTML editors, the most common one you come across is called the WYSIWYG Editor. (What you see is what you get) which has two modes to it - Visual Mode, and HTML Coding Mode. After clicking on the "Edit Text" link on any of these block slides, the default view you come to is a screen with the following strip of controls at the top. Circled in red is the HTML button you use to toggle between the two modes.

1. Visual mode allows you to create a slide with an editor that is similar to microsoft word. With action buttons to embed pictures, media links, file uploads...etc. The visual editor allows you to format the size and styling or your text, and the paragraph alignment of your content. You can also add lists with either radial dots next to the list items, or have them numbered. To remove any formatting from text you paste into the field, just highlight it and then click on the "Remove Formatting" action button to make it uniform with your other text. You also have the option of expanding the editor window to go full screen if needed. 

2. HTML Coding Mode  Allows you to expose the code that makes up what you see in each slide, and also alows you to insert embed codes you can get from online media like YouTube videos, Soundcloud or Spotify music players, and more. To activate HTML mode, just click on the HTML button. make your adjustments, the deactivate the mode by clicking the HTML button again. Whatever adjustments or embeds you made to the code will then update in Visual Mode.

Using this mode is a bit more complicated if you do not know HTML code. However, the more you study it, the more it makes sense. You do not need to write a full slide in HTML, it's main purpose is to help you adjust what you do in the visual editor, by fine tuning the parameters of the code that the editor writes for you. As long as you know how to identify what is what in the code, then it becomes quite easy to use the HTML Coding Mode to edit or modify what you create in Visual Mode.

For a quick crash course on the basics, you can use this tutorial video I found on YouTube for the time being, until I have finished making a tutorial video for the Djemini Network's version of the WYSIWYG editor, which has a slight variation to it from the one in this video. Many of the ideas still aply however, so it makes for a good introduction: 

Copy and Pasting Video Embed Codes:

Embedding Videos from YouTube is super easy, as most of it just requires you to copy and paste a line of code that YouTube provides for you. This line of code is called an iframe and can be copied by going to the video page, and right clicking in the video player. A pop up will appear with a variety of options, of which you will select "< > Copy Embed Code" from the list.

After copying the iframe embed code, go to the slide on your profile where you want to embed the video, and click on the "Edit Text" link at the top left of the slide. When the editor bar appears, click on the HTML button to activate HTML mode. When activated, paste the iframe embed code into the editor, adjust the width and height parameters if needed, then click on the HTML button again to deactivate HTML mode, and preview the video.

Adjusting the Width and Height of the Embedded Video:

Adjusting the size of the video is easy, as the line of code includes easy to find labels for both width and height, with associated parameters for each. Parameters can either be input as a stand alone number to indicate a pixel count ( eg: width="320" ) or they can be input as a percentage, where the parameter of 100% accounts for the full width of the area you have input the iframe into. ( eg: width="100%" ) Percentage parameters work only for the width input, and the height of the input field is tecknically infinity. So it's suggested that you set your width, preview the video, then adjust the height accordingly. 

If you input the iframe into a <div> tag to float text next to it ( refer to below ) then the parameter of 100% in the iframe code will account for the width of the <div> area. So if your <div> is set to 50% of the slide's total width, the video parameter of 100% will only account for 50% of the slide width.

Floating Text along the side of your videos:

This code enables you to float text next to an embedded YouTube video or iframe, giving you space to add additional information, links, pictures and whatever else you want to include in the slide.

To float the video on the left with the text wrapped floating on the right, input

<div style="float: left; width: 50%; margin: 5px 15px 5px 5px;"> (iframe code) </div>

or to float the video to the right with the text on the left, change the style tag - style="float: right;

To adjust the width and height of the video player as it displays in the frame, just find the width and height labels in the HTML embed code, and adjust the figures accordingly. For example, for the video to span 50% of the page block, with text floating along the right side of it, adjust the code like this:

Note that the video width is still 100%. That is because the value for the video iframe will span 100% of whatever container you put it in. And since the <div> tag is set to 50%, the video will fill 100% of that 50%. If that make's more sense.

After you've floated the video, adjusted the size, and what have you, return to visual edit mode and continue inputting your text and other content that you want floating next to the the video. Once the text runs far enough down to clear the bottom of the video, it will automatically wrap back to the far left, under the video. Embedded videos, even whn they are small in the slide, can still be made to go full screen by using the video player controls and clicking the "Go full screen" button.
