The Djemini Network is a independently owned and operated social networking site tailored for artists and small businesses of the West Kootenays Region in BC, Canada, to promote our works online and share with our friends and families abroad. However, if you enjoy our humble little corner of the internet enough to join, then you are more than welcome to!

We offer a wide variety of pubishing tools for sharing great online media content, though not quite as automated or sophisticated at the big tech 5 group of social media monopolies that most are all too familiar with. Our current capacity can host up to 10,000 members, and have 100GB of storage space for your photos, written works and other creative displays of your talents, products and / or services. We do not, however have room to host videos, so it is recommended and strongly encouraged that you import or embed your video content from other services like YouTube or Vimeo.

Here a big shout out and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to an honoured elder in the Djemini Community, Avery Garnet MacKay !! Come and celebrate a long time musician, father, grandfather and mentor on his 75th birthday by joining us this evening at the Ymir Hotel for some banjo pickin shenannigans!!

Well it's official. I have new teeth!! Only took 30 years to do it, seeing as how my parents couldn't afford teeth for both myself and my sister, so they made us compete for them instead, by seeing who got the best grades in school. Needless to say, I lost. Because I was an outcast who was bullied by teachers and other students alike.

A total of 9 implants (5 on top, 4 on bottom) to replace the rotting corpses in my mouth. After 30 years with no smile, and living in a butt load of pain on a regular basis, I'm now back to enjoying what most people take for granted. My teeth didn't stand a chance from day one, as they were crowded and cracked apart since I was young. And no measure of brushing could make any difference, and flossing was impossible because of how tightly crowded they were. Please don't ask me for a picture of what they looked like before, because that is something I want to leave in the past for good, along with all the people who abandoned me and pridefully undermined my efforts to reach out for help for SO VERY LONG.

Both will not at all be missed.

Promenade Preview | What do you get for joining?

When joining the Djemini Network, this page block on the Promenade becomes a dynamic way to browse the most recent community posted content. With 9 different tabs that appear for you to interact with, joining allows you to acces and browse through the Global Activity Log, Graffiti Wall, Announcements, Projects, Photos, Articles, Events and Question Polls.

Global Activity Log

This tab displays a chronological archive of the 8 most recent content posts made by network members. Additionally, it pushes notifications to announce new members who have joined the network, new social connections that are formed, new comments on content that are made, and any Graffiti Wall entries.

Graffiti Wall

The Graffiti Wall serves as a place to share random thoughts, memes, videos and other non-archived posts and status updates. It includes a full visual + HTML editor for making high quality, multi-mixed media content posts.

Announcements

This tab feature exclusive admin and moderator articles that act as both notifications and announcements for new network features, FAQ's, network mapping, or any changes to the layout and features we have on board.

Projects

Contains a short list of featured Project Groups that boast the most members and activity. Project groups each host their own tailored members lists, photo & video albums, music & audio players, article threads &, forums, group events and more!

NOTE: you must be a Silver Tier+ Subscriber to create Project Groups, to help us save on limited server space. With more financial support for the Djemini Network, we can expand our server space to include as many as 100,000 members, and make it so that anyone can create groups.

Photos

Includes an assortment of the most recent photos that have been added to the open community photo collections. This collection doesn't include any photos added to project groups. Additionally, members can click on a photo to take them to the photo URL page, where they can leave a comment on the photo content that is posted.

Videos

Includes an assortment of the most recent videos that have been imported from YouTube and Vimeo, and added to the open community video collections. This collection doesn't include any videos added to project groups. Additionally, members can click on a video thumbnail to take them to the video URL embed page, where they can leave a comment on the video content that is posted.

Articles

This tab features the most recent articles that have been added to the open community discussion boards. Articles can include embedded photos, videos, music players, hyperlinks and more, all mixed together to create stunning presentations for discussion. All articles come complete with their own subsequent discussion threads.

Events

Network members can schedule and post events for other members to attend. Event posts come with their own embedded description where you can use the visual editor to give your guests as much detail as possible in presenting engaging and informative invitations for them to come and attend you event. Complete with an RSVP counter and guest list built in, you can easily keep track of who's indicated their attendance, and prepare your events accordingly.

Questions

Questions are an application where members can pose either an open question with for discussion, or post a poll to gather statistics from other members. Each Question or Poll entry comes complete with its own comment section, for if members what to gather more information or discussion before casting any poll votes.

🎧 Djemini Radio is an area where we can upload, share and collectively listen to our favourite music together while we browse the timeline. Tracks can be uploaded as singles, or as collections organized into albums.

You can open the Djemini Radio page to add tracks or browse through collections, or you can open the pop out player to start listening to a random shuffle of all tracks in the collections.

To help new members get acquainted with the layout of the Djemini Network, and for a quick way to jump from one area of the website to another, I've created this explorer page, which provides a comprehensive visual overview of the website, with links and descriptions to all major pages and intersections.

You can find quick links to the Explorer page both in the main network navigation menu under the Help Center, or in your profile Dashboard in the 📜 "Browse" tab.

I've recently re-organized the Photos section of the network to have more options, and more searchable layers and categories. When clicking the upload photo icon from the + "Add Content" tab in your Dashboard, you will now be directed to a page which will ask you which albums or collections you want to add them to.

We now have a variety of pay access tiers available for hosting and storing subscriber's exclusive photo albums and collections. More details will be available during the upload process.

Star Wars Community | "The Stronghold"

The Stronghold is a vitual, Star Wars themed environment and marketplace, arranged to house a variety of activities for the Star Wars fanbase. Ranging from cosplayers or gamers, to real life droid builders and shady merchants, the Stronghold is a virtual environment made for us to have a place of our own, in a galaxy far, far away.

Crafted from images captured from the massively popular MMORPG, "Star Wars: The Old Republic", The Stronghold is crafted to be a virtual "walk through" environment, inspired by some of the earliest PC puzzle / mystery games. In this virtual environment, you'll find NPC's that can help you explore and discover all the things we have built into the environment. From virtual market booths representing real life businesses, cosplayers and crafters, to NPC tour guides taking you through the museum to learn new things, there is a growing number of exciting things to engage with. So kick your feet up at the Cosplayer's Cantina, meet some of the characters we have lingering about, and enjoy your stay!
